Ke Ke Bakuteh
For non Singaporeans I will explain a bit about Bakuteh. It's soup of pork meat with bones. Pork rib is cooked with garlic and other spices and the taste is usually very plain. It is served with Chinese tea, rice and one or two vegetable dishes. As for Bakuteh, Tian Khean recommends another eating house behind the BOAT QUAY in the Best page, and I would like to report on it. However, this stall which I visited today offeres also very tasty bakuteh and I decided to introduce Ke Ke first.

Today we ordered chicken rice, duck rice and vegetables. Therefore we ordered bakuteh without tea and rice. S$ 3
Boiling soup is served in claypot. Looks tasty :-)

This place is just about 5 minutes walk from Holland Village. Holland Drive Block 40, where this bakuteh hawker is situated, is located at the junction with Commonwealth Avenue. Though stalls are on the ground floor of a HDB apartment house, terrace is very spacious and green belt is separating terrace from street, and you can feel extremely comfortable here.
You can find also a good chicken rice stall.
