THIS IS THE BEST CHICKEN RICE RESTAURANT IN SINGAPORE
Wee Nam Kee
Wee see often the name Wee Nam Kee in Singaporean local food popularity contests.
The restaurant facing Tomson Road is always busy.
There are other meals. However I prefer chicken rice, dumpling soup and fried green vegetable. They taste best.
It's no use to explain the Singaporeans that there are boiled (white) and roasted (black) chicken. (I have to explain to the Japanese!) I prefer white.
You see chickens hooked up like the photo left below and can probably judge whether they are tasty or not.
The photo left is a portion for two persons.
Here the sauces are excellent as well. On the right side photo, bottom left is chili sauce. Right to that is white ginger-garlic sauce.
You can see also both Japanese type and Chinese type soya sauce. Good!
I like to put chicken on the rice and put both chili sauce and Chinese type sweet soya sauce on top of it. I will certainly miss this taste after I have left Singapore.
They say that the chicken rice in a certain hotel restaurant is the best in Singapore.
I say that is NOT true.
